20180630 - Maury County Fire Department - Live Fire Training Evolutions
3770 Rutledge Lane - The Maury County Fire Department was contacted by an area resident that wanted to donate a house to the department for training purposes. Training Chief Jeff Hardy made all the arrangements through government agencies such as Environmental Conservation and Air Quality, and then prepared the structure (with the help of a handful of volunteers) for burning. The roof and siding and all contents had to be removed, and some walls needed drywall hung on them.
This training day would count towards live fire evolutions for 11 fire recruits that were working towards their Firefighter I certification, and it was also good training for the already certified firefighters.
In all, 35 members were on the fireground fulfilling roles such as interior firefighter, apparatus operator, instructor, or to provide rehab.
Once all the training evolutions were concluded, the structure was left to burn to the ground.
