20180512 - #TeamCagle Benefit Event
Fiddler's Grove / Wilson County Fairgrounds - Justin Cagle, a former City of Mount Juliet Police Officer and current Wilson County Sheriff's Deputy, has served the residents of Wilson County for more than ten years. He was a member of the Special Response Team (SWAT)
in Mount Juliet and is presently a member of Wilson County's Special Response Team. Needless to say, Deputy Cagle is a huge shooting enthusiast.
Deputy Cagle was diagnosed with cancer some years ago, and he fought and beat it. In recent months, he had a new occurrence of cancer and is fighting for his own life.
Friends, family members, and coworkers got together and thought about how they could help Justin offset some of the costs associated with his treatments. The idea they came up with involved two of his favorite things - Friends/Family and Shooting.
The benefit involved a silent auction, the sale of donated food, and donation-based registration fees for a shooting competition. The competition, which was open to everyone, consisted of pistol and rifle paper target shooting, pistol bowling pin shooting, and a Law Enforcement team competition which involved pistol, rifle, and shotgun.
The winners won prizes and the winning Law Enforcement team, The Wilson County Sheriff's Office, won a trophy to take back to their station as well as bragging rights!
At Justin's request, the profits from the sale of the food is to be donated to the family of recently deceased Lebanon Police Officer Joseph Michael Bowen who lost his life in a vehicle crash while returning home from work on March 1st, 2018.
