Engine-104 was second due and its initial orders included assisting in establishing a water supply line to a nearby hydrant, and deploying a second 1.75 inch handline to the rear of the structure.
The apparent area of origin was a front bedroom on the A / B corner and the fire extended down the hallway and up into and throughout the attic void space. The rapid attack stopped the fire before it was able to self-ventilate through the roof. Although the structure was saved, there was smoke, fire, and water damage throughout.
None of the residents were home at the time of the fire, but two family dogs were rescued from the house by neighbors. There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians, and the cause & origin is under investigation by the Fire Department of Mount Juliet.
