20220217 - Unincorporated Lebanon - Structure Fire
11991 Stewarts Ferry Pike – At around 12:20 a.m., Wilson County firefighters were dispatched to a reported barn fire at the Twin Oaks Ranch. Arriving B-Shift firefighters faced a very large volume of fire and would spend hours fighting the blaze. The City of Lebanon Fire Department also assisted with the operation.
The burning barns were roofed with tin, which obstructed access to the fire once the structure collapsed. Firefighters would spend hours manually pulling these large sheets out of the fire and to the side. Thankfully, a large excavator was made available at about 5:00 a.m. Crews were able to clear the scene at about 6:30 a.m.
Shortly after 8:00 am, units were dispatched back to the scene for a rekindle. Engine-5 & Medic-5 (C Shift) were first to arrive on the scene. The last portion of a partially damaged structure was now burning, so additional resources were requested. Engine-1, Medic-1, Tanker-9 and Rehab-23 also responded to the scene.
Having the excavator on site saved time and manpower, and firefighters were able to extinguish the fire. Again.
There were no injuries to firefighters, civilians or livestock.
The cause and origin is under investigation by the Wilson County Emergency Management Agency.
