20220109 - Unincorporated Mount Juliet - House Fire
355 Crosswinds Dr - Just after 11:30 PM, Firefighters from the Wilson County Emergency Management Agency, along with Sheriff's Deputies, were dispatched to a report of a house fire. The caller stated the fire originated in a downstairs bedroom.
The first arriving units were Medic-4 & Engine 4 (B Shift), under the command of Lieutenant Chad Fresen [704]. Lt Fresen advised that he had a 2-story log cabin residence 80% involved, and that he was laying a supply line in the driveway and initiating a defensive attack.
Additional responding units included Engine-3, Medic-3, Engine-6, and Tanker-9. As they arrived, a water shuttle to a hydrant down the road would be established, and a total of two 1.75 inch handlines would be deployed and placed into operation.
After nearly four hours, the fire would be placed under control. The majority of the structure had either burned up, or collapsed into the foundation to do the same. As crews picked up and returned to service, the incident commander advised dispatch that passers by would likely continue to call regarding the smoldering remains.
No firefighters were injured during the incident, but one homeowner sustained facial burns in what was described to be a flash fire in a downstairs room. All the occupants and their domestic pets were able to make it out of the home.
The cause and origin of the fire are under investigation by the Wilson County Emergency Management Agency.
