20210916 - Unincorporated Mount Juliet - Motor Vehicle Accident
4876 East Division Street - At approximately 12:45PM, 911 received calls regarding a one-vehicle accident. Wilson County EMA Fire & Medics, as well as Sheriff's Deputies & State Troopers were dispatched to the scene.
The first arriving unit was a Deputy from the Wilson County Sheriff's Office. He advised his dispatcher that the vehicle was severely damaged, and he believed the driver was deceased.
Wilson County EMA Engine-6 (B Shift) arrived first due, as this scene was in their zone. Due to the extremely heavy entrapment, Rescue-14 from the City of Lebanon Fire Department was requested to the scene.
Medic-3 and Rescue-14 arrived on the scene and crews assisted with what Engine-6 had already started. Shift Commander / Paramedic Lee Bowling [700] arrived and assumed command of the incident.
The rescuer's efforts were somewhat hampered by trees that the vehicle was wedged between. Not only was the roof rolled and the dash lifted, but trees had to be removed as well before the vehicle could be winched out.
The deceased was transported to an area facility for the medical examiner. The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
