While en route, Rescue-3 requested apparatus from Station 1 to respond to the scene as well. An ambulance from the Wilson County Emergency Management Agency was also responding to the scene.
Once Medic-10 arrived on scene, the patient was loaded into the back and removed to an area hospital, CPR in progress.
It has been confirmed that the subject was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Due to the nature of the incident, the Tennessee Highway Patrol was requested to investigate the accident.
The passerby that was able to successfully extricate the victim from the SUV was an Off-Duty Sheriff's Deputy from an undisclosed agency. Another good samaritan was a uniformed army soldier. Both rendered emergency treatments and provided CPR until the Ambulance arrived on the scene.
