20210706B - City of Mount Juliet - Motor Vehicle Accident
Interstate 40 Westbound @ mm226 - Shortly after 3:00PM, a Mt Juliet PD Help Truck that was assisting a tow truck with traffic control in the HOV lane was struck by another motorist. The impact was significant enough to deploy the airbags of the car that struck the Help Truck, and send the truck approximately 50 feet further down the interstate.
Two ambulances from the Wilson County Emergency Management Agency and an Engine from the Fire Department of Mt Juliet responded to the scene.
Both drivers were transported to area hospitals for evaluation and treatment. The incident is being investigated by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
At the time of the crash, all emergency lights and the very large L.E.D. arrow / sign board were activated.
