20210104 - Unincorporated Lebanon - Camper Fire
497 Northern Rd - At about 10:40 AM, Sheriff's Deputies and Wilson County Firefighters were dispatched to a report of a camper fire, fully involved.
The first units on scene were (4) deputies from the Wilson County Sheriff's Office.
The first arriving fire apparatus was Wilson County EMA Engine-6 (B Shift). Engine-6 was staffed by a crew that was on Medic-6 at the time of dispatch. Medic-6 responded from WEMA Headquarters to their own quarters, just 1/2 mile down the same road from the scene. Once on the scene, Engine-6 deployed the deckgun to knock down the blaze which had consumed a 30' pull-behind camper.
The second due units, Engine-3, along with Medic-3, arrived a few moments later and crews deployed a 1.75 inch handline and began to extinguish the remainder of the fire.
Engine-9 was the third due engine. With all three crews on scene, the fire was quickly controlled and overhaul completed.
No firefighters, deputies, or civilians were injured by the fire. The cause of the fire was a space heater. The camper was being used as a residence, however the occupant was not inside at the time of the fire.
