20191028 - City of Lebanon - House Fire
631 C L Manier Street - At approximately 1:30 PM, the City of Lebanon Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a confirmed house fire.
Engine-1 and Rescue-10 (C Shift), arrived first due with Shift Commander Chris Stockton [400]. Commander Stockton reported light smoke from a 1 story residential structure. One 1.75 inch headline was pulled to the front door and crews prepared to make entry.
Shift Commander Stockton requested a 2.5 gallon pressurized water extinguisher to the “C” side of the home and attempted to knock the fire down, but the fire was already extending to an adjoining room. The initial attack crew made entry through the “A” side door and began suppression efforts.
Additional resources, including Engine-2, Engine-3, Engine-4, Car 1 [Chief Chris Dowell], Car 3 [Joe Simms] Car 4 [David Means], and Car 5 [Ed Felts] began arriving on the scene as well and an additional attack crew stretched a second 1.75 inch line and made entry through the “C” side. At the same time, a crew laddered the roof and began vertical ventilation.
The fire, which apparently started in the kitchen, had extended upward into the attic space and burned towards the “B” side of the home eventually igniting the contents of the garage. Once discovered, the main body of fire was knocked down and salvage and overhaul commenced.
Wilson County EMA Medic-1 was on scene and provided medical monitoring in the rehab sector.
Once all hot spots were extinguished and some of the irreplaceable personal items were removed from the structure, crews began to clean up, decontaminate, and pack up their equipment.
No firefighters or civilians were injured by the fire, however two family pets were removed from the home and had perished due to smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Lebanon Fire Department.
