After completing a thorough 360º survey of the structure and camper, it was decided that Firefighter/Paramedic Stephen McCluskey would crawl into the camper to do a rapid primary search. Upon entry, three dogs were located in the A/B corner. The animals were removed from the wreckage without incident and reunited with their owner who had just arrived on the scene,
The additional resources from Station 1 and the electric company arrived on the scene a short time later.
Once the power was cut at the pole and there were no further hazards, units returned to service and headed back to quarters.
There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians (or their pets). At the time this article was published, it was not known what the cause of the collapse was.
