8077 Hickory Ridge Rd - At approximately 12:45 PM, Wilson County EMA Medic-61 (C Shift) was returning from another assignment the they observed smoke on the horizon. When they searched the area and located the source, a controlled burn, they contacted their dispatch by radio and requested an engine to the scene and also recommended the dispatch of a brush truck.

What started out as a small controlled burn, quickly quickly turned into something much larger with just a bit of wind. The fire spread to a nearby pile of junk tires and black smoke filled the sky and could be seen form miles away.
After a couple hours and several thousand gallons of water, the fire was brought under control.
