20181224 - City of Mount Juliet - Armed Stand-off
4600 block of Boxcroft Circle - At approximately 6:00 AM, a resident called police reporting a suspicious vehicle that was parked in the middle of the street. It was occupied by 4 persons that appeared to be unconscious.
When officers arrived, the vehicle was determined to be stolen out of Davidson County and the subjects were refusing to respond to the officers' commands. It was also determined that the subjects were armed.
The area was locked down and residents were asked to lock their doors, stay away from windows, and shelter-in-place. Additional resources including the MJPD Special Response Team were called to the scene to assist. Some residents in close proximity to the incident were evacuated from their homes and provided with shelter at a nearby hotel.
After about 90 minutes of negotiating, the subjects began to follow commands and surrendered to officers peacefully.
The subjects, all males, ages 15, 16, 17, & 17, were armed with a handgun, a semi-automatic "AR" style rifle with a supressor, and two 3-pound steel hammers. The firearms were reported stolen out of Davidson County on the 20th, and the vehicle was reported stolen on the 23rd.
Coincidentally, at the same time and unrelated to this incident, officers recovered another stolen vehicle in the Triple Crown subdivision on Secretariat Dr.
