20180620 - Unincorporated Mount Juliet - Vehicle in the Water
Vivrett Creek Boat Ramp (Alvin Sperry Road) - Shortly before 3:00 PM, a man who had been fishing near the boat ramp contacted law enforcement to report what he believed to be a car in the water at the bottom of the boat ramp. Deputies from the Wilson County Sherif's Office responded to the scene and interviewed the reporting party, after which a request was made to the Wilson County Emergency Management Agency to respond with divers.
Deputy Director and Fire Chief Jeremy Hobbs [901], Division Chief Marty Heckman [905], and B-Shift Commander Lee Bowling [700] responded to the scene along with divers Michael Peveto and Kyle Cravens.
The divers entered the water and searched the area that was described to them and did locate a vehicle. Hamblen's Wrecker Service was then contacted and requested to respond to the scene.
Once the wrecker was on scene, divers attached a tow cable to the vehicle and it was removed from the water without incident. A Sergeant from the Wilson County Sheriff's Office did confirm that the vehicle was reported stolen approximately six months ago to the Metro Nashville Police Department.
The matter remains under investigation by law enforcement.
