20180604B - Unincorporated Mount Juliet - House Fire
9385 Lebanon Road - At 6:50 PM, Wilson County
Firefighters and Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to the scene of a house fire just outside the Mount Juliet city limits.
First on the scene was a deputy that reported everyone was out of the house. Just a moment or two later, Engine-31 (B Shift) and Medic-31 under the command of Captain Phil Spears [701] arrived on the scene and reported smoke showing from the structure. One 1.75" handline was stretched to the front door and firefighters forced entry into the structure. Engine-61 and Engine-41 arrived in quick succession and a viable water source was established.
Once inside, firefighters made their way toward the bedrooms and found fire erupting from the bathroom. The fire was quickly knocked down and further investigation showed some extension into the attic space. The fire was extinguished and placed under control.
Once salvage and overhaul were completed, crews worked to pick up and return trucks to service.
This would be the second house fire that Wilson EMA firefighters would be summoned to inside 14 hours, both of which resulted in quick knockdowns and great preservation of property.
Per the homeowner, the cause of this fire was a candle left unattended and burning in the bathroom. There were no injuries associated with this incident.
