20180603 - City of Mount Juliet - Motor Vehicle Accident
I-40 eastbound @ mile marker 227.2 - At 1:52 PM, The Fire Department of the City of Mount Juliet, The Mount Juliet Police Department, and The Wilson County Emergency Management Agency were dispatched to a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a white pickup truck that had left the roadway and driven off deep into the woods. Another motorist driving behind the victim witnessed the incident and called 911.
The first unit to arrive on the scene was Mount Juliet Police Corporal Kris Elliot [430-A]. He advised that the vehicle was far into the wood line, and that the driver was apparently experiencing a medical emergency.
FDMJ Engine-104 (A Shift), under the command of Captain Nick Ford [1101], arrived on the scene a couple moments later. Firefighter Mark Chasteen tended to the victim while Firefighter Mike McCleeary and Captain Ford created a path through the trees with a chainsaw to remove the victim to the Ambulance. Once on scene, Wilson EMA Medic-101 (A Shift), FDMJ, and MJPD Officer Shanna Drake removed the patient from the vehicle and carried him to the ambulance. He was then transported to an area hospital from evaluation and possible treatment.
