20180421 - Norene - Barn Fire
2170 Sherrilltown Road - At approximately 1:40PM, Firefighters from the Wilson County Emergency Management Agency and the Watertown Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to a reported barn fire.
The first arriving unit was Watertown Engine-22 under the command of Assistant Chief Blake Haun [302]. Assistant Chief Haun reported that he had a fully involved barn with a home approximately 100' away, and would be initiating a defensive attack.
Wilson EMA Medic-21 and Tanker-21 arrived a short time later. The next arriving engine was Wilson EMA Engine-111 responding from a previous alarm.
Firefighters worked for about three hours to knock down all the fire, overhaul, and hit all the hot spots.
The cause of the fire was reckless burning of tires behind the barn, about 15 feet from the structure. When the wind shifted, the barn was set ablaze.
There were no injuries as a result of this fire.
