20180213 - Unincorporated Watertown - Trailer Fire
141 Grant Rd - At approximately 6:30 PM, firefighters from the Wilson County Emergency Management Agency were dispatched to a fire in a vacant single-wide mobile home at the rear of a property on Grant Road. Resources from stations 8, 1, and 9 responded to the scene.
Prior to the arrival of fire apparatus, a Deputy from the Wilson County Sheriff's Office arrived on the scene and confirmed the reports of a fire and advised that the trailer was a total loss.
Upon the arrival of Engine-81 (B Shift), Lieutenant Cassandra Page [705] advised she had a fully involved trailer fire, which was almost entirely on the ground, and that they would be initiating a defensive attack.
While en route, Shift Commander Lee Bowling [700] advised Lieutenant page that he had received information from dispatch and the fire was being investigated as suspicious, and to treat the scene as a crime scene and use as little water as possible.
Engine-11 and Engine-91 arrived not long behind Engine-81 and crews worked to extinguish the blaze. Shift Commander Lee Bowling [700] and Fire Chief / Deputy Director Jeremy Hobbs [901] arrived a short while later and began sorting out the details and investigating the cause of the fire.
While firefighters put out the fire, Chief Hobbs and Commander Bowling interviewed the owner who eventually admitted to lighting the fire.
Firefighters were provided with refreshments on the scene by the Wilson County Emergency Services Rehab Unit [Rehab 23].
The fire was extinguished without incident and no injuries were reported.
