20180202 - Unincorporated Mount Juliet - Structure Fire
810 Muskogee Way - Shortly before 9:30 AM, Firefighters from the Wilson County Emergency Management Agency were dispatched to a report of a possible structure fire. The frantic caller stated there was a fire, possibly on the back of the house.
Before long, Engine-31 (C shift), under the command of Captain Steve Fox [801] arrived on scene and reported heavy smoke showing from the rear of the home. Further investigation would reveal a fire in a gazebo on the back patio. Prior to the arrival of Engine-31, Wilson County Sheriff's Deputies deployed a fire extinguisher in an attempt to keep the fire at bay. This quick action by the deputies undoubtedly helped stop the fire from spreading to the house.
One 1.75" handline was deployed and the fire was quickly knocked down. Engine-61 arrived and secured a viable water source from the hydrant located in the front yard. Engine-51 was instructed to stage at the end of the block, and was able to be put back in service following the firefighters quick control of the incident.
The pool-side gazebo was furnished with electrical and propane powered appliances, and according to officials, the cause of the fire was electrical in nature.
No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported, and the main structure of the home was not damaged.
