20171110 - Unincorporated Mount Juliet - Dumpster Fire
1940 East Division Street - At approximately 9:20AM, a woman traveling down East Division Street noticed a large amount of smoke and flames coming from a roll off container on a property a short way off the roadway. She reported seeing and hearing multiple small explosions from the container as well. The Wilson County Emergency Management Agency was notified and firefighters were dispatched to the scene.
Upon the arrival of Engine-31 and Medic-31 [C Shift], Captain Fox ordered his crew to stretch one 1.75" handline and begin extinguishing the blaze.
Upon further investigation and after speaking with one if the residents, it was determined that the fire was set intentionally to dispose of some trash and debris that had been removed from the home.
Firefighters had to use two tank-loads of water totaling 2,000 gallons to put the fire out, but reported that the fire may continue to smolder for some time.
