20170830A - Unincorporated Mount Juliet - House Fire
113 Tanglewood Drive - Shortly after 10:00 AM, firefighters from the Wilson Emergency Management Agency were dispatched to a report of of a Residential Structure Fire. Crews from Stations 3, 4 and 6 responded (C Shift).
Upon the arrival of the first unit, it was reported that there was heavy clack smoke showing from the residence and the working fire protocol was initiated.
Two handlines were stretched from the first engine; one to the front door and one to the garage on the B/C corner.
As crews battled the fire, a civilian brought one of the residents down the driveway to the ambulance personnel by the street. This resident had sustained 1st and 2nd degree burns to his head/face and other parts of his body. Another ambulance was dispatched to the scene to transport him to the burn unit at Vanderbilt Hospital.
As suppression efforts continued, one firefighter was transported to an area hospital for an unspecified injury.
As the duration of the incident passed, an additional engine and ambulance were requested to the scene for manpower. In addition, Squad-103 (A Shift) from the City of Mt Juliet Fire Department was also requested to respond to the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Wilson Emergency Management Agency.
