20170213 - Unincorporated Lebanon - Brush Fire
2000 Callis Road - At approximately 3:45 PM, firefighters from the Wilson Emergency Management Agency were dispatched to a report of a field on fire near a residence.
Engine-51, Medic-51, and Brush-11 [C Shift] responded and immediately began suppression efforts upon their arrival. If units had arrived just a couple minutes later the fire would have spread into a large area of tall grass and briars which would have spread rapidly.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire rather quickly. Lieutenant Scott Lorden [804] Placed the fire under control and units picked up and returned to service.
The point of origin was a rubbish pile the homeowner was burning, and the wind caused it to spread to the adjacent grassy area.
