20170204B - Lascassas - Structure Fire
3206 Simmons Bluff Rd - At 2:35 pm, firefighters from the Wilson County Emergency Management Agency were dispatched to a report of a grass fire next to a home under construction.
When Engine-51 [C Shift] arrived on the scene, Lieutenant Scott Lorden [804] advised that he had a large area of grass on fire that had extended to an abandoned structure, and that the fire had jumped the road and was in the woods threatening another structure.
Brush-11 responded from Station 1, and a Tanker and a Brush Truck from Rutherford County responded out of the Walter Hill station.
After approximately two hours, the fire was placed under control.
The cause of the fire was reckless burning left unattended at an adjacent home construction site. The low humidity and wind caused the fire to spread rapidly.
