20170203 - City of Mount Juliet - House Fire
504 Belinda Parkway - At 3:40 PM The Mt Juliet Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house on fire. A short time later, MJPD Officer Cody Mang [414-B] arrived on scene and confirmed there was heavy smoke and fire showing from the C/D corner of the house. With this information being relayed to responding Fire units, dispatchers were advised to activate the 'Working Fire' protocol.
The first due unit was Squad-103 [B Shift] under the command of Lieutenant Drew Noland [1120] and a handline was stretched and charged and suppression efforts began. As additional units arrived, firefighters were able to attack the fire from different angles. After a short while, the fire was knocked down and hot spots were overhauled and the fire placed under control.
All occupants were able to safely exit the home. The homeowner stated that someone knocked on their door and told them their house was on fire. This came just a moment or two after the power went out at their home.
The official cause of the fire is under investigation by the Mt Juliet Fire Department.
