20161229 - Unincorporated Mount Juliet - House Fire
9000 Saundersville Road - At 6:00 Pm, The City of Mt Juliet Fire Department AND Wilson County Emergency Management were both dispatched to a report of a structure in the 9000 Block of Saundersville Road. Upon the arrival of the first unit, it was determined that the fire was in fact just outside the boundaries of the City.
When the WEMA Shift Commander arrived on scene, he advised he had fire in the rear of a two story Balloon Frame residential structure and requested an Aerial Truck from the City of Mount Juliet to continue into the scene to assist. Ladder-111 did respond to the scene but was later put back in service by command. The nearest hydrant was some distance away in a gated subdivision - with a poor flow rate and too far away to lay in.
In addition to the three WEMA engines assigned to the call, a WEMA tanker was requested as well as an engine from Mt Juliet for shuttling water to the scene.
Approximately three hours into the incident the fire was placed under control, but extensive overhaul would still need to be done.
There were no injuries to any civilians or firefighters, and the cause of the fire will be investigated by the Wilson County Emergency Management Agency.
