20160707 - Unincorporated Lebanon - House Fire
121 Cairo Bend Road - At approximately 5:00am, police and firefighters were diapatched to a report of a house on fire.
Weather was bad - torrential downpours, gusty winds, and a large amount of lightning was occurring. Visibility was poor, roadways were flooding, and there were tree limbs and utility poles were down all over town.
A sheriff's deputy was the first to arrive on the scene and confirmed the incident and reported there was smoke and fire showing. He then attempted to gain entry to the house through the rear door, which he did, to attempt to see if there were any occupants in the home, but he was forced back by heat and thick smoke.
Wilson EMA stations 5, 6, and 9 were dispatched to the scene as well as an engine from The City of Lebanon Fire Department.
Lebanon Engine-3 was the first arriving piece of apparatus, quickly followed by WEMA Engine-91. They reported that they had heavy smoke and fire showing from a two story wood frame residential structure, 70% involved.
The nearest water source was nearly a mile away around the corner from Lebanon Fire Station #3 and a tanker shuttle was utilized. The lack of a water source at the scene hampered efforts and made bringing the blaze under controol very difficult.
Rehab-23 from the Wilson County Emergency Services Rehab Unit was on scene to provide refreshments to the firefighters on scene, and food was donated by Chick-fil-A in Lebanon.
