20141012 - City of Mount Juliet - Machinery Fire
12020 Eastgate Boulevard - Shortly after 1:00am, a trooper from the Tennessee Highway Patrol observed a fire of an unknown origin or location visible from Interstate 40. After some time of attempting to locate the source he found a piece of construction equipment on fire off the dead end of Eastgate Boulevard, and he had his dispatcher notify the Fire Department of the City of Mount Juliet.
The first due apparatus would be Engine-104 chauffeured by Chief of Department Erron Kinney [Chief-101]. Second due was Squad-103. After cutting a lock and entering the construction site, the trash line off Engine-104 was deployed by FF’s Waller and Wilz. Scene support and overhaul were performed by Fire Recruits Mark Bolling and Max Ambriz. It took nearly 500gal of water and a considerable amount of foam to bring the fire under control.
While crews operated on the scene, 9 Volunteers including Division Chief Shawn Donovan [Chief-201] and Captain Chris Allen responded from the comfort of their homes and staffed apparatus at both stations to provide uninterrupted protection for the city.
