1140 Eastover Rd - At approximately 6:55 pm, WEMA Stations 9, 8, and 2 were alerted for a reported kitchen fire, and that all the occupants were evacuating. The first unit to arrive on scene was Lt John Partridge [805], and reported that he had heavy smoke showing from the rear of a 1 story residential structure. While waiting for apparatus to arrive, he and a neighbor were able to knock down the main body of fire with a garden hose, this prevented the fire from spreading throughout the home. Once the fire due Engine and Tankers arrived from Stations 9 & 8, a 1 3/4" handline was stretched through the rear door and crews overhauled the kitchen. One resident was evaluated for smoke in halation, but no other injuries were reported to members or civilians.
