20140521A - City of Mount Juliet - Gas Main Struck
337 Dunnwood Loop - Shortly before 3:00pm, the Fire Department of Mount Juliet was dispatched to a report of an underground natural gas main struck by a contractor. Squad-103 and Tower Ladder-114 responded to the scene. Upon their arrival, Assistant Chief Jamie Luffman [Chief-102] notified dispatch that they did in fact have a ruptured gas main, and requested Piedmont Gas to the scene. As Squad-103 had to break free for another incident, WEMS Engine-31 and Medic-101 responded to the scene to assist. A few houses in close proximity were evacuated as a precaution, and one dog was taken out of its house (in its owners absence). Piedmont Gas was able to secure the leak, and all units were able to go back in service without incident.
