5983 Lebanon Road - Not long after 10:00 AM, Rutherford County Sheriff's Deputies, Firefighters, and EMS were dispatched to the Dollar General for a report of a car fire in the parking lot. Rutherford County Fire Rescue Engine-52 (A Shift), under the command of Engineer Kyle Ruiz (acting in charge), arrived on the scene to find smoke showing with a fire inside the passenger compartment. It was also evident that an adult male was in the driver's seat of the vehicle; he was found to be deceased. The fire was extinguished and a crime scene was established. Multiple resources responded to the scene including: Rutherford Co. Fire Rescue Rutherford Co. EMS Rutherford Co. Sheriff's Office La Vergne Fire Marshal's Office La Vergne Police Dept. / Crime Scene Investigation US DOJ Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The incident remains very much under investigation.
