20200827 - Antioch - House Fire
4464 LaVergne Couchville Pike - At approximately 10:30 AM, units from the Nashville Fire Department were dispatched to a report of a house fire. All subjects had reportedly made it out of the home.
The first arriving unit was Medic-33 (B Shift). They reported smoke and fire showing from the A/D corner of a two-story wood frame residential structure and they proceeded to a staging area to leave room for incoming fire apparatus.
The first due apparatus was Engine-33 (A Shift) under the command of Captain Calvin Smith. Captain Smith gave a report comparable to that of the medic unit and passed command to the next incoming unit. The crew of Engine-33 stretched a 1.75 inch hand line to the front door of the home and made an aggressive interior attack. Engine-26 arrived a short time later and Captain Shawn Prim established command.
Additional responding units included Truck-26, Truck-21, Truck-27, Engine-15, Engine-4, Engine-35, Rescue-12, Air-21, Rehab-55, and District-6.
Upon his arrival on scene, District Chief Ron Teague [District-6] assumed command of the incident. An additional 1.75 inch hand line was stretched to the D side to make entry into the side door.
Crews worked for a while longer until all visible fire was extinguished and overhaul was completed. All occupants and their dog were able to safely exit the home. There were also no injuries to any firefighters.
The cause and origin of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshal's Office.
