17 2nd Ave - The Locust Valley Fire Department responded to this house following a report of a house fire, with a possible subject trapped. Under the command of 3rd Assistant Chief Andrew Akapnitis [5403], crews were able to make entry into the house, and locate the fire in a rear bedroom which had extended up into the attic area. Additional resources were called to the scene from the Sea Cliff & Glen Cove Fire Departments. The fire was quickly brought under control, and the cause of the fire is under investigation by the Nassau county Fire Marshal’s office and the Nassau county Police Department. There were no reported injuries to any firefighters.
