Northern State Parkway @ Searingtown Road Overpass - Police, Fire, and EMS were summoned to the scene of a multi-car Motor Vehicle Accident in the westbound lanes of the Northern State Parkway. Upon arrival, units reported a multi-vehicle collision with several patients to be evaluated and/or transported. The Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Dept., the Roslyn Fire Co.'s, Port Washington EMS, and Nassau County Police Dept. Emergency Ambulance Bureau responded to the scene. While in the process of clearing the accident in the westbound lanes, a careless driver, not paying attention to the road in front of them, caused a second accident in the eastbound lanes at the same location. For a period of time, all lanes of the Northern State Parkway in BOTH directions were completely shut down. When all was said and done, several patients were transported to area hospitals.
