The North Massapequa Fire Department responded along with the Nassau County Police Department to the intersection of Boundary Ave & North Broadway today after receiving reports that an SUV had struck several cars and overturned in the intersection. First arriving units reported that the subject was injured, and also trapped in his vehicle. As Firefighters and officers from NCPD’s Emergency Service Unit worked to free the man, a NCPD Helicopter responded to take him to the hospital. After being freed, the man was transferred to Nassau University Medical Center, and the scene was held as a crime scene for further investigation. A unit from the Highway Patrol division was asked to respond to NUMC with a “Blood Kit” for the purposes of investigating alcohol involvement.
