Long Island Expressway Eastbound just before Exit 40W - 911 was notified of a car smoking on the shoulder of the LIE, and a woman was on the shoulder of the highway. Police and Firefighters were dispatched to the scene. Highway Patrol and Old Westbury PD units arrived on scene to find the Toyota Corolla well involved, and notified their dispatchers of such. Extreme traffic conditions hampered the response of Westbury Fire Department's Squad 7. Upon their arrival, they quickly doused the blaze.
